Drive about 25 miles north from Houghton on US-41. Drive past the south end of Cliff Drive (just north of Ahmeek). The north end of Cliff Drive is just south of Phoenix. Park 2 miles south along Cliff Drive and walk straight in toward the cliff. You'll be lucky to find the trail, but use a large boulder with moss clinging to its sides as a guide. This boulder has several decent bouldering problems with nice landings, if the moss is cleaned off from the holds first. If desired, use the three bolts on the top for protecting some of the more strenuous problems. Climb the gully to the left of the boulder to reach the top of the Upper Terrace, or turn right along the bottom of the face.
This area also has a nice icefall that forms in the winter. The climb Batteries Not Included is located north of the main icefall area. If you park several power poles (5 or 6 I think) to the north and head due west, you should end up fairly close. Otherwise, bear right at the boulder and head north along the base until you find it.
Kim decided to skip her senior prom to go climbing in da UP eh. Here she is part way up the first pitch of Batteries Not Included (5.7). What you can't see is that ice is covering many of the useful holds.
Our friend Shawn lead this climb (one if his first leads). I'm seconding the climb. This climb sparked a bit of controversy. After being lead on natural pro, a bolt happy non-local decided to rap bolt the climb. As a result not only are there bolts next to nice crack systems, the bolts are way off to the side of the climb. Don't count on the bolts still being there ;)
